The IPL 2025 is over, and the champions are Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Cricket lovers look forward to this much-anticipated league. Even though it provides entertainment, the IPL franchise has been involved in a number of scandals, like as a disagreement between the owners of the Punjab Kings, this season’s runners-up.

A love relationship between Bollywood actress Preity Zinta and businessman Ness Wadia, who co-owns the IPL team Punjab Kings (previously Kings XI Punjab), resulted in a joint commercial venture in 2008 when they bought the IPL franchise.
Preity Zinta, a co-owner of Punjab Kings, filed a complaint against her business partners in court:
Did you know that Preity Zinta, a co-owner of Punjab Kings, filed a complaint against her business partners in court? Yes, Priety Zinta filed a lawsuit against Mohit Burman and Ness Wadia, co-owners of the Punjab Kings.

The company’s board meeting was reportedly the cause of the problem. This is not the first time that a disagreement between Punjab Kings’ co-owners has made headlines.
Relationship and Conflict Between Ness Wadia and Preity Zinta, Co-Owner of the Punjab Kings:
Preity and Ness Wadia reportedly had a passion for sports. Thus, they jointly purchased the Kings XI Punjab IPL squad in 2008. Their romance began in 2005 before they became business partners. In 2005, Preity Zinta publicly acknowledged her connection with Ness Wadia.

There were rumours that the couple was dating when they were spotted together at Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan’s wedding. After then, Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia, the heir to the Wadia Group, were frequently spotted together.

After they joined the IPL as business partners, their relationship’s dynamics changed:
Ness Wadia, along with his mother and nephew, went to the 2014 Kings XI Punjab vs. Chennai Super Kings game at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Ness Wadia allegedly arrived late and was unable to secure seats in the VIP box.
Ness was instructed to wait ten to fifteen minutes. He began arguing with Preity Zinta for a seat in the VIP box’s front row after spotting her there. The argument became so heated that they were both spotted leaving the VIP box and heading to the corporate office.

However, nobody is aware of what transpired in the room. Preity Zinta filed a complaint against Ness Wadia at the Marine Drive Police Station on the evening of June 13, 2014. Priety said that Ness Wadia had threatened, harassed, and mistreated her.
Ness Wadia allegedly confined her in the room for hours and threw a flaming cigarette in her face, she told the police.

Ness Wadia and Preity Zinta’s friendship deteriorated following this event, and they were later observed avoiding one another. They both avoided discussing the split in public, and they parted ways in their private lives.
Nussi Wadia, the proprietor of the Wadia Group Company, is the father of Ness Wadia. One of his Wadia Group Companies, Britannia Industry, is run by Ness as its director.

Despite the legal battle, the Bombay High Court eventually suppressed the case in 2018. Allegedly, both parties agreed to settle the case amicably. In 2016, Preity Zinta married American businessman Gene Goodenough and has since steered away from the controversy.
