A fan has already crafted a model of the GTA 6 map, and it’s available for download now. Similar to the collaborative effort seen with GTA V, the gaming community is once again uniting for a mapping initiative. Their goal is to conceptualize the map layout before the official game release.
Since the gameplay leaks surfaced in 2022, the community has managed to assemble some segments of the map. The first official trailer provided additional insights, enhancing the accuracy of their efforts.
For instance, a fan pointed out that the real-life Loews Hotel in Miami is visible in four shots from the GTA VI trailer. Despite being in the early stages, significant progress has been achieved in a short span.
It’s important to consider that what’s revealed in the trailer might change by 2025. Reflecting on GTA V’s initial trailer, while fantastic and iconic, it featured shots with unloaded parts of the map. Recent leaks also indicate that the game underwent alterations in the final years before its release.
Regardless of potential disparities between the community map and the final game, this project offers an enjoyable and engaging experience. Mapping out GTA VI’s expansive and content-rich terrain proves to be more challenging, adding to the game’s excitement.
GTA 6 Map The 3D model
YouTuber Dark Space has taken the initiative to construct a 3D model of the GTA VI map, drawing insights from the initial GTA VI trailer and the collaborative community map. This model offers a unique opportunity to explore the game world from diverse perspectives, considering various trailer shots.
Although it’s in the early stages of development, the model is progressively gaining accuracy. Dark Space overlaid his map onto the trailer, revealing substantial similarity. Leveraging shots from the trailer and leaked footage, an approximate placement for various locations has been deduced.
GTA 6 Map Leaks
Dark Space compared the GTA VI map size with those of GTA V and IV. It’s evident that Leonida surpasses the dimensions of the maps in GTA V and GTA IV, but there’s more to it. Unlike San Andreas, which had similarities outside Los Santos, the Leonida map boasts greater diversity, with features like the Everglades being just one example.
Surprisingly, the entire GTA VI map, including Los Santos, can fit within Vice City based on this 3D model. Leaks indicate the presence of other urban environments farther from Vice City, deviating from the setup in GTA V. However, Leonida incorporates more water, adding a unique aspect to the landscape.
Dark Space generously made his model available as a free download, encouraging collaborative contributions to the project. He has granted permission for its use in content creation, with due credit, fostering a sense of community involvement. The model can be downloaded here, and Dark Space’s explanatory YouTube video offers additional insights into his modelling process.
The unity within the GTA community, reminiscent of the anticipation preceding GTA V’s release over a decade ago, adds excitement to the mapping developments. Leonida, shaping up to be Rockstar’s grandest game world, presents fans with an engaging challenge and a source of enjoyment.
