A Gwalior man’s attempt to create a viral social media reel by covering his car in thousands of lipstick kiss marks has backfired after traffic police intervened. The Maruti Swift, decorated with around 3,400 lipstick marks, eventually earned its owner a ₹5,500 fine.
The car belonged to Aditya Sikarwar. According to him, a female friend covered almost the entire exterior of the vehicle with lipstick kisses. The unusual makeover was inspired by a social media trend and was meant purely to grab online attention.
How the Stunt Was Done
The transformation took approximately three-and-a-half hours and used lipstick worth ₹800–900. Once completed, Sikarwar posted a video of the lipstick-covered Swift on Instagram, and it quickly gained traction.
However, the same video also caught the eye of Gwalior traffic police. Traffic police station in-charge Abhishek Raghuvanshi said the footage had surfaced on social media a couple of days earlier. The vehicle was allegedly seen being driven at speed in the Patel Nagar–City Centre area.
Police Action
Using details visible in the viral video, police traced the car to Thatipur. A team located the vehicle and brought it to the traffic police station. Sikarwar was called in for questioning.
During questioning, he explained that the idea came from his female friend. “A female friend of mine made it. I had parked the car and stepped away, and she created the marks. I had posted the video on Instagram,” he said.
He admitted the stunt was done primarily so the video would go viral. “My friend thought that if we did this, the video would go viral, so we posted it. It did go viral. She covered the entire car with the marks,” Sikarwar added.
The Outcome
Sikarwar accepted his mistake and personally cleaned the lipstick marks off the car at the police station. The vehicle was then washed to restore its original look. Police also advised him to follow traffic regulations and not repeat such an act. He was fined ₹5,500 for vehicle modification and related traffic violations.
