Following a brutal terror attack on visitors, Pahalgam, a popular tourist resort in Jammu and Kashmir, has attracted international attention. It was the final blow to the already strained ties between Pakistan and India. India’s foreign policy underwent a significant shift after the incident when it took a bold and forceful stand and boycotted Pakistan on all fronts—trade, diplomacy, culture, and entertainment.

Most notably, Hania Aamir and other well-known Pakistani celebrities have their Instagram accounts geo-blocked by India. But it appears that her supporters will stop at nothing to avoid boycotting Hania. For this reason, a lot of reports say that many Indians started utilising VPNs to view Hania’s Instagram activities. Hania Amir has now also addressed his followers who reached out to her by doing such things.
In response to Indian users utilising VPNs to maintain connections with her on Instagram, Hania Aamir says:
The Pahalgam attack, which claimed 26 lives, is being viewed by the Indian government and populace as more than just another act of terrorism. Many now question the future of the India-Pakistan relationship as a result. Pakistani actress Hania Aamir was disproportionately impacted by this unexpected wave of grief. It’s because she had just begun to gain popularity in India and has friendly relationships with several Indian celebrities, such as Badshah and Diljit Dosanjh. She was forced to abandon Diljit Dosanjh’s most recent film in addition to being blacklisted in India.

Ro doongi
However, Hania’s loyal Indian fans were able to circumvent it by accessing her account through VPN services. With sentimental comments like “Miss you” and “Don’t worry, humne VPN subscription liya hai apke liye,” Indian fans showered Hania’s post. Inspired by this, Hania wrote in response to one of those messages,

Hania Aamir had already spoken out against false claims that she was responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack:
Social media warriors are increasingly utilising social media as a means to disseminate false and misleading information in the midst of the highly tense situation between India and Pakistan. Similar to this, a recent social media message went viral after being incorrectly attributed to Hania Aamir. According to the statement, she planned to request that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi lift the restrictions imposed on Pakistani celebrities’ internet activity after her account was taken down in India.
After this, Hania took to social media to clarify that a statement that went viral that was allegedly uttered by her is not real. Hania Aamir posted on Instagram Stories,
Recently, a statement has been falsely attributed to me and is being widely circulated on social media. I want to address this directly: I did not make this statement, and I do not endorse or align with the words being linked to me. It is entirely fabricated and misrepresents who I am and what I believe.
Hania Aamir also made fun of the Indian side by claiming that placing blame without evidence just serves to deepen divisions. She penned,
That being said, this is a deeply sensitive and emotional time. My heart goes out to the innocent lives lost and the families affected by the recent tragedy. Pain like this is real, and it deserves empathy-not politicization. In times like these, it’s easy to let emotions cloud our judgment, but we must remember: the actions of extremists do not represent an entire nation or its people. Assigning blame without proof only deepens divides and distracts from the real need for compassion, justice, and healing.
Concluding her message, she wrote,
To my beloved supporters, your love means everything to me. I kindly ask everyone to check the truth before sharing and to approach these difficult times with kindness and clarity. Let us honor those impacted by choosing empathy, truth, and togetherness. I remain committed to spreading positivity and respect in all that I do. With sincere condolences and hope for peace, -Hania Aamir

Hania Aamir had already denounced the attack at Pahalgam:
Hania Amir had already voiced her sadness about the Pahalgam attack shortly after it occurred. She posted on her Instagram story,
Tragedy anywhere is a tragedy for all of us. My heart is with the innocent lives affected by the recent events. In pain, in grief, and in hope, we are one. When innocent lives are lost, the pain is not theirs alone- it belongs to all of us. No matter where we come from, grief speaks the same language. May we choose humanity, always.

There are more Pakistani actresses whose Instagram accounts have been banned in India besides Hania Aamir. Other Pakistani musicians who had their social media profiles geo-banned in India included singer Atif Aslam, actor Fawad Khan, Mawra Hocane, Ali Zafar, and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. In addition, India geobanned numerous Pakistani politicians’ and cricket players’ social media profiles. Despite everything, it doesn’t appear like this will end anytime soon. Instead, as each day draws to a close, it feels as though we are only at the beginning and that a huge event is about to occur.
