Dr Jasmine Kalsi, a doctor from Karnal, shared a video in which she spoke about the proposals her parents have been receiving and the sudden change in attitude once families discover her public life and large social media following.

Jasmine described the process as following an “arranged marriage syllabus.” Families often like a girl’s profile, photographs and other details at first. However, once they see that she is active on Instagram, has lakhs of followers, and leads an independent lifestyle, doubts begin to creep in.
“Apparently, after getting lakhs of followers, the marriage material just disappears,” she said.

“If someone sees you on Instagram, and sees a girl like you who is independent and has this kind of lifestyle, then why would he want you?”

“If you’re getting two lakh followers and two lakh problems, then congratulations, your decision is absolutely right, because you don’t have the capacity to cherish a girl like me.”
