How 74-Year-Old Joan Became an Instagram Sensation and a Teacher to 1.3 Million Followers

Joan’s motto, which you can see on her website, is “If I can do it, so can you.” That is especially true if you consider that she began her adventure at the age of 70, when her health was failing. She sorely needed a change, as simply walking up and down the stairs was uncomfortable due to her arthritis and lack of fitness. As a result, she made the decision to change her life and invest in her physical and mental well-being.

Michelle, her daughter, inspired her to begin her adventure.

Joan was fully aware that unless she changed her lifestyle, her medicine will be increased by the doctor. Michelle approached Joan in tears, telling her that she would end up in a nursing home if she didn’t do something. Joan joined a group of ladies who were all trying to modify their habits at the time. With the passage of time, her gym performance improved, and the pounds began to fall off.

Joan has shed about 70 pounds and has reached her desired weight in less than four years. “Right now, my goal is to keep lifting higher weights in the gym and stick to the routines I’ve established since beginning this transition.”

She had moments when she wanted to give up.

“I didn’t want to return to where I had started.” I also realised that if I didn’t continue to this lifestyle, my health would be jeopardised. I didn’t want to end up in a nursing home or a hospital.” She was aware that her progress was sluggish, but she was convinced that her efforts would be rewarded for the rest of her life.

She’s now at a point in her fitness journey where she feels like a completely new person. She is more confident in the gym and has a thorough understanding of how to prepare nutritious and balanced meals. She now eats five meals a day, takes supplements, and works out five days a week. Her two days off will be spent relaxing and spending time with her family.

It wasn’t easy to learn how to operate with technology.

“It was my daughter who convinced me to join Instagram as a means to communicate with people. As I began to share my storey on social media, more and more individuals began to follow me.” She did, however, cry about technology and her inability to absorb anything quickly at times. However, she never gave up on herself or her objective, and she persevered.

She now enjoys communicating with other ladies and men who are attempting to break unhealthy habits. She has gained so much from her personal experience that she finds it quite rewarding to assist others in doing the same. She wants everyone to know that a journey like hers will not be simple, but she also wants to inspire them to begin.

“Transformation is difficult, but it is worthwhile, which is why you must persevere. Do what you can if you’re just getting started. You might only be able to walk three blocks, which is fine. Start by walking those three blocks every day until you can accomplish a little more.”

“I also recommend using a free app to track your food consumption and checking your water intake.” Her daughter Michelle, who trained her, believes that changing one’s perspective is critical for those who wish to change their life. It is mental power that will provide them with the motivation to improve their performance and overcome their fear of change.
