On the Reddit community titled “antiwork,” the staff member shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp exchange with his supervisor. The worker informed his supervisor by SMS, saying, “I won’t be coming to the office since my health is not well.”

Next, the management enquired as to whether the worker was seeking sick time off. The manager said, “You need to inform at least 7 days prior to taking sick leave or casual leave,” after confirmation.

Netizens were scratching their heads over the boss’s weird Leave Policy

“How can I tell if I’ll be sick in the next seven days?” the worker posed the query in his now-viral post.

“Ask him if he can predict if he’s going to be sick in the next 7 days,” proposed a Reddit member.

“Write an email every day stating, ‘This is to inform you that I might get sick seven days from now and may need to use sick time,'” said another user. See how long it takes, please.

“You’re not supposed to know your health will fail seven days in advance,” remarked a third user. You know, sharing is caring, so you should just tell everyone at work that you’re sick.

A fourth person mentioned, “I was a grocery employee once. I once worked an evening shift and called in sick after hurting myself going down a flight of stairs. I was informed that ill calls had to be made by 8 am, so I had to come in nevertheless or risk getting written up. I’ll just plan on falling down the steps the next time.
