It can be difficult to depict disturbing moments on screen; performers are frequently prompted to set boundaries or voice reservations about these kinds of portrayals. The celebrated actress Julia Roberts recently disclosed in an interview the true reason she decided not to participate in nude sequences, despite having decades of expertise on television.
The 56-year-old actress has avoided jobs that could be interpreted as provocative, even in her well-known performance as Pretty Woman, where she wore full clothing.
The actress expressed in the interview that she wanted to stand out for women who might feel under pressure to undress on TV. Julia clarified, saying, “My G-rated career… You know, not to be criticising others’ choices, but for me to not take off my clothes in a movie or be vulnerable in physical ways is a choice that I guess I make for myself,” in response to the question of whether she feels a sense of responsibility to other women because of her decisions made on screen.
She went on to reveal that her steadfast stance could be explained by an unanticipated bond with a feminist icon. Julia revealed that she discovered that she is DNA cousins with Gloria Steinem after researching her family tree with Dr. Henry Gates from Discovering Your Roots.

The Academy Award–winning actress had previously stated that she was reluctant to take off her clothes because she was worried about her kids’ safety. “You know it’s not really what I do, so if you are going to ask me to do it, you have to expect it to be toned down,” Julia said in response to a question regarding her availability to appear in a film’s nude scene. You know, I feel like that as a mother of three kids.
In 2002, the celebrity wed cinematographer Danny Moder, and in 2004 she gave birth to twins Hazel Patricia and Phinnaeus Walter. Henry, a boy, was welcomed into their family three years later.

The actress also acknowledged that her hubby was responsible for keeping her young. “Good genes, leading a life that is fulfilling, and I have said this — and I say it usually as kind of a joke — but I do believe in the love of a good man. I believe that my husband loves me and cares for me in a way that makes me feel deeply, deeply happy,” she said in response to a question about the secret to her attractive appearance.
Roberts is not the first actor who has shown reluctance to show provocative shots; actor Liam Neeson has also opened up about why he feels uncomfortable recording personal moments.
