This Actress is Set to Become the Fourth Sonu in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Replacing Palak Sidhwani
Looks like it’s time for another big change on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah! Actress Palak Sidhwani, who you might recognize as the bubbly Sonu, has officially bid farewell to the show. After playing the character for five long years, Palak is stepping down.

But guess what? The show must go on, and the makers have already found their new Sonu! Enter Khushi Mali, known for her role in Sajha Sindoor. She’s all set to take over the iconic character and make it her own.
So, when can we expect to see Khushi on our screens? Mark your calendars for October 7th, because that’s when she’ll be making her grand entrance as Sonu.

Khushi couldn’t be more excited! She recently shared how thrilled she is to join the Taarak Mehta family, saying, “Playing Sonu is going to be such a blast! She’s a character with so many wonderful qualities, and I can’t wait to dive in.”
Can you believe it? Khushi will be the fourth actress to step into Sonu’s shoes! First, there was Jheel Mehta (2008–2012), followed by Nidhi Bhanushali (2012–2019), and then Palak Sidhwani (2019–2024). Now, it’s Khushi’s turn to put her spin on the character.

For Khushi, this opportunity is extra special. Joining a show as beloved as Taarak Mehta means a lot to her, and she’s looking forward to connecting with the fans through her new role.
But not everyone’s thrilled about the change. When the makers introduced Khushi as the new Sonu in a video on social media, some fans weren’t too happy. One viewer even joked that the show has “become elastic” — it keeps stretching and stretching! Some people are even calling for the show to be taken off the air altogether.

So why did Palak leave? Well, it turns out there was some legal drama involved. After five years as Sonu Bhide, Palak decided to exit the show following a legal dispute. She’s not the only one to leave either. Remember Jennifer Mistry and Shailesh Lodha? They’ve also exited the show, each with their reasons.
