Three models from Kolkata are receiving criticism on social media for their daring Durga Puja pandal attire. Photos of the former Miss Kolkata winners Hemoshree Bhadra and Sannati Mitra with their companions appeared online, sparking the issue. One of the models was dressed in a form-fitting black gown in the photos, while the other wore a short orange dress and high-top boots. The third person chose to wear black trousers with a red blouse. On her Instagram post, Sannati called their appearances “rebellious,” but some users took issue and voiced their displeasure. Some contended that their attire was inappropriate for a religious festival.

“It was so Rebellious, we never thought it was possible, being a girl we always knew our body was ‘BAD’ but life is like that it gives new examples and experiences,” the model-influencer wrote in a post she shared.

One user commented, “I feel ashamed for her dressing in a holy place,” in response to the photo. “Stop this vulgarity on puja mandap,” said someone else. This is despicable.

This is not empowering women. A comment said, “This is mocking our sanatan dharm and above all, your nude souls are wearing shoes and sandals during darshan inside a pandal.” “Sharam karlo thodi, bhagwan ke samne to acche kapde pehen lo” (It’s okay to feel ashamed.

“Popularity ke liye ye log aur kitna girenge (How low will these people go for popularity)?” another person posted. “No words to explain this nonsense,” one more person said. Our culture is on the verge of collapse.

In an additional video, the models are shown visiting several Durga Puja pandals in Kolkata, dancing, playing instruments, and having a fantastic time.

The three women were attacked by many users on X, including activist Deepika Bhardwaj, for drawing attention to themselves in such a manner at a house of worship, after their postings were shared there as well.
