No one can criticise what a mother teaches her children as long as they are happy. Cayce LaCorte, a 40-year-old woman from Charleston, South Carolina, is the subject of today’s storey.

Cayce is the mother of five daughters. And she’s educating kids about life and growing up in a unique way. Cayce has a TikTok account where she chronicles her five girls’ upbringing and teaches them how to live happy lives. On TikTok, a user asked her the following question in a “stitch video”:

“Explain something about the way you raised your children that others find strange but that you believe is healthy.”

Cayce, who goes by the TikTok handle @book mama, answered the question with her own spin on her lessons. Cayce stated,

“I’m going to get a lot of flack for this, but what are you going to do about it?”
“I’m instilling in my five girls the belief that vi*ginity does not exist.”

“It is a patriarchal concept used to control women & serves not purpose other than making women feel bad about ourselves.”
“…It does not change your worth, it does not change who you are, it doesn’t do anything other than it happened.”
“$ex is important, it’s a big deal, it should always be a big deal. It has nothing to do with your ‘first time.’”
“It’s just ridiculous, the whole concept is ridiculous…”
“I’m raising them (my daughters) to be good people and have solid foundations. And make their own choices and make smart, intelligent choices…”

Cayce’s video received a lot of positive feedback from women and mothers. They backed her up in her decision to raise her girls in this manner.

“I never really thought about this to be honest. Mom of two little girls. I will absolutely be adopting this!! Thank you for sharing.”

Samantha Wool wrote:

“I have 2 girls , and I think this is how I will teach them when they are older this would’ve made me feel more self worth when I was younger. ”

“ I love this. I hate that people use it to equate someone’s virtue and worth. Thank you for speaking up.”
