Several of Bollywood’s biggest male actors teamed up for two-hero films in the 1990s, resulting in a slew of blockbusters. However, just a few two-hero films have been made in the Hindi cinema industry in recent years.

Padmavaat, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and War, directed by Siddharth Anand, are two of the few films with high anticipation. Padmaavat included Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in key parts, whereas War featured Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff.

Despite the fact that both of these films were great successes, most A-list actors are wary about sharing screen time with another actor in a major production. It appears that the tendency is slowing shifting, as several biggies with two male leads have been announced in the recent few months. Take a peek at the list of most-anticipated two-hero Bollywood films below:

Pathaan

After a four-year hiatus, Shah Rukh Khan returns to the big screen with Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan. In the action-thriller, SRK portrays a spy, while John Abraham plays the antagonist. Surprisingly, Pathaan has been in the works since last year, but the producers only recently disclosed it. Since then, fans have been excitedly anticipating SRK and John’s on-screen confrontation. The much-anticipated film, starring Deepika Padukone as the main woman, is set to hit theatres next year on January 25, over Republic Day weekend.

Tiger 3

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are prepared to excite fans with the third instalment of the franchise, following the phenomenal success of Ek Tha Tiger and Tiger Zinda Hai. Intriguingly, Emraan Hashmi will make a cameo as a villain in Tiger 3. This will be the first time that both male stars will share screen time, and fans can’t wait to see them together. The film will be directed by Maneesh Sharma and will be released on April 21, 2023.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan

For Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Bollywood’s ‘Khiladi’ Akshay Kumar will link up with youthful action hero Tiger Shroff (BMCM). The film has the same title as the 1998 Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda film, however it is not a remake. It would be a visual delight for viewers to see their favourite action stars executing daredevil exploits while fighting thugs together in the film dubbed “The Biggest Action Entertainer.” Bade Miyan Chote Miyan is set to be released on Christmas Day 2023.

Vikram Vedha

The Hindi version of Vikram Vedha, starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan, is one of Bollywood’s most eagerly anticipated films. The film is a remake of the Tamil smash blockbuster of the same name, directed by Pushkar and Gayatri, who also wrote and directed the original. Hrithik portrays a boisterous mobster named Vedha, while Saif plays a police officer named Vikram. Fans are anxiously anticipating Hrithik and Saif’s on-screen confrontation after seeing their initial appearances. The actors are reuniting on screen for Vikram Vedha after a 19-year break. They last worked together in the film Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, which came out in 2002.

Selfiee

Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions announced the official Hindi version of the Malayalam film Driving Licence earlier this year. The film, titled Selfiee, will be helmed by Raj Mehta of Good Newwz fame and will feature Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi for the first time. Fans are delighted for the film, which will be full with entertainment, humour, and emotions, as it was announced in a charming trailer. As the teaser suggests, Akshay will play a superstar in Selfiee, with Emraan playing his fan.
