In the United States alone, the volume of discarded clothing has increased from 7 to 14 million tonnes per year over the last 20 years. That’s why it’s a good idea to never throw something away or try to pass it on unless it’s been used to its full potential. Sharing your old clothes with your children has a sentimental value in addition to the environmental benefit. It’s incredibly sweet to witness a bridal gown passed down through the generations.
