All in life repeats itself and fashion is no exception. What we now find “news” and “fashion trends” have all been created long ago, and have been attempted by fashionists.

1901 was the year that the term “trench” first appeared in the fashion world when it was accepted as clothing for the soldiers by the British military ministry. The trench was moved to civilians’ cloakrooms during World War I, and fashionistas across the globe fell in love with it. The movies of the ’40s-’60s played a major role in this: The trench appeared in Casablanca, The Answer, Tiffany’s Breakfast, and several other movies. This has become a topic of real cults.

Every girl of the noughties actually had a chic collar called a “choker.” Today celebrities again give us an example of being fashionable by wearing this sort of necklace.

Frills, jabots – all the sweet girly stuff has returned to us once again.

They were popular in the 1920s and 2000s and were especially common among preceding century fashionable ladies.

Bell-bottoms (or flares) have once more become extremely popular. Yet fashionistas are now pairing flares with long trousers or culottes.

The overskirt, or peplum, shows beautifully the elegance of a woman’s body while concealing any imperfections. Today this essential piece of clothing is often worn with tight jeans or skirts, but you are free to experiment and set new fashion trends, of course.

7. Bob haircuts from the 1990s

But only one exception, the bob haircut has again become widely popular: now we prefer a lengthened version and choppy bob hairstyles.

Mini skirts and maxi skirts are put off for better times. Modern fashion’s absolute favourite is a midi skirt. Even though it’s not a novelty-it was famous 80 years ago.
