Known for his daring fashion choices and revolutionising rap in India, Badshah recently made headlines for an unusual ensemble he donned to an award presentation. The rapper, who is well-known for songs like Let’s Nacho, Tareefan, and Garmi, shocked fans by showing up in an enormous, wrinkled black coat. This outfit rapidly gained popularity and sparked a tonne of online comparisons.
Badshah made an appearance at the GQ Best Dressed Awards wearing a long, crumpled black coat, loose black trousers and an untucked orange-patterned shirt.
He completed the ensemble with pricey white shoes, sunglasses, a dishevelled haircut, and a black scarf with a white design.
Netizens were split on the audacious decision, though. Quickly mocking the ensemble on social media, others made comparisons to a trash bag, a scooter cover and even a raincoat. “Looks like the old scooty cover in the storeroom,” “Bhai, that looks like a raincoat,” and other amusing remarks suggested that the “fashion police” should step in.
Some even said, “I thought he was Bhidu for a second,” mistaking actor Jackie Shroff for Badshah.
Badshah remains focused on his hectic work schedule, which includes new projects like Crew and Ishq Vishk Rebound, despite the criticism. He also continues to serve as a judge on Indian Idol alongside Shreya Ghoshal and Vishal Dadlani.
