A government school principal in the Kota region of Rajasthan was taken into custody after removing multiple posts on WhatsApp about the celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi.
The police claim that the village’s WhatsApp group members are part of the Government Higher Secondary School committee in Latoori.

A message wishing everyone a happy Ganesh Chaturthi was posted in the group on Saturday by one of the village’s residents. Shafi Mohammad Ansari, the school principal, nonetheless removed the message.
After about two hours, another instructor posted a similar comment, which the administrator also removed.

The villagers then organised a rally in which they called for Ansari’s dismissal and imprisonment. Police arrived quickly and promised to take action. A complaint was lodged by the residents against the principal.
The police filed a formal case after receiving the complaint, and they detained Ansari on suspicion of inciting unrest in the community.
