Rice is a staple food for many countries around the world. It is very easy to make and has many advantages for the body. Traditionally people throw in the water where the rice is cooked or soaked assuming it has no further use. But you’ll never throw rice water again into your life after reading this article. There’s a difference between fermented water in rice and water in rice. Rice water is the water that has soaked the rice for some time, or the water it was cooked in. When you leave the rice water for a few hours or so because it is in the open then it will start smelling bad. This is called fermented water in rice. Here’s how to use this fermented rice. With Plain Rice

You Will Need:

  • 1/2 Cup of Rice
  • 1 Cup of Water

How To:

1 Soak half a cup of rice twice as much water as one hour.

2 During the morning strain the water and place in a clear glass jar. Keep this glass bottle aside for a few hours or so.

3 When a foul smell starts to come from the water, switch it to a fridge and hold it in a cold position for 6 to 8 hours or so. The water on rice has now fermented.

4 This water is very strong, and shouldn’t be directly used. Apply half a cup of cold water and mix well.

5 Rinse your hair over and over again with this rice water until your hair is drenched with this. Leave the hair this way for 10 minutes. You can use a shower cap to cover it too.

6 Put a gentle shampoo into your hair and use cold water to thoroughly wash the rice coating off your hair. Of course, let your hair dry.

7 Repeat this step two to three times a week to make your hair stronger and beautiful.

Rice is a rich starch and protein source that gets mixed in the water the longer you let it soak in it. This rice water is very strong in nutrients and should not be used directly because it can make the hair tougher and more brittle than ever.

With Boiled Rice

You Will Need:

  • 1/2 Cup of Rice
  • 1 – 1 1/2 Cup of Water

How To:

  • 1 Strain the water in which the rice is cooked and keep it aside in a separate bowl to let it cool down to room temperature. Leave it for an additional 3-4 hours to ferment.
  • Heat a cup of water for a few minutes, or one and a half, before it begins to boil. In the boiling water put half a cup of rice.
  • Keep the mixture over medium flame until a little bit of rice begins cooking. Turn the heat to low until the rice has fully boiled.
  • To let it cool down to room temperature, strain the water in which the rice is cooked and hold it aside in a separate bowl. Allow this to cure for an estimated 3-4 hours.
  • Repeat this step 4-5 times, until more water is absorbed by the hair. After that leave the hair for about 20 minutes.
  • 6 Wash your hair with lukewarm water to get the dried rice water out of your hair properly. Follow up with a moderate conditioner.
  • 7 Place this water in the refrigerator and use it two or three times in a week to give your hair a natural shine.

Boiled rice water is slightly less active than normal fermented rice water and heat appears to sever some of the rice’s protein bonds. This is also a very good recipe for people with short and dry hair because it does not significantly harm the hair.

  • 3-4 Drops of Rosemary Essential Oil

How To:

  • Just as you did in the first solution, prepare the fermented rice water.
  • Attach a few tablespoons of coconut oil and a few drops of basic rosemary oil to the water after they have fermented and mixed together.
  • To continue fermentation put this mixture in the fridge.
  • Pour this mixture into your hair then vigorously massage your scalp and roots with your fingers for around 10-15 minutes.
  • Keep the hair as it is by covering it with a shower cap or a damp towel to create enough moisture for your hair for a further half-hour.
  • Using a mild herbal shampoo and some lukewarm water to rinse off the dried rice mixture from the hair. Spray dry hair with a clean towel.
  • Repeat this cycle thrice a week to rid your hair of dandruff and make it look young and healthy.

Once combined with fermented rice water, coconut oil extends its benefits from hardening the hair to removing dandruff from the scalp. Daily use of this mixture will free your hair dandruff and will reinforce the hair follicles encouraging new hair development.

With Amla Oil and Rice

You Will Need:

  • 1/2 Cup of Rice
  • 3-4 Tablespoons of Amla Oil
  • 1 A teaspoon of Lavender Essential Oil
  • 1 A teaspoon of Rosemary Essential Oil
  • 1 A teaspoon of Lemon Essential Oil
  • Water

How To:

  • Stir in the rice water the amla oil and the essential oil concoction until it is set aside for fermentation. You may also apply the mixture of oil to the boiled rice water.
  • For the second solution, apply it to your hair until the water has fermented completely. Verse it over your head, gather the excess in a bowl and pour it over again.
  • Massage your head in a smooth circular motion, shifting your hands softly. Function 10–15 minutes on your scalp and feet.
  • Tie your hair in a tight knot or bun, then cover it with a damp towel or a shower cap.
  • Leave the hair tied and wrapped as long as possible but for at least one hour.
  • Wash off the rice water with a herbal shampoo and lukewarm water, covering on your hair. Afterwards, add a gentle conditioner to lock the hair in the moisture.
  • When you want youthful-looking healthy hair in a month, this treatment should be repeated two to three times a week.
