Mahendra Singh Dhoni, whose name has become synonymous with victory, is regarded as one of the finest cricketers to have ever represented India in the sport, having won all of the major tournaments and leagues. He has a big fan base all over the world. Apart from the millions of admirers and young cricketers who idolise him, few people are aware that MS Dhoni is also a major devotee of Yoga Guru Sadhguru.
Recently, a video of Kagiso Rabada and Sadhguru from the year 2020 has gone viral on the internet. In the viral video, Sadhguru can be seen praising the legacy of former Indian captain MS Dhoni.
In the video, Rabada asks Sadhguru if he is an MSD fan, to which Sadhguru responds by praising Dhoni and discussing how his mindset changed the Indian cricket squad.
“Yes. I had only met him once on the golf course. I didn’t have much of a chance to talk to him. I just walked up to him and said, “Hello.” But, you know, I think he gave Indian cricket a new lease on life.”
Sadhguru went on to compare the Indian cricket squad under Sourav Ganguly’s captaincy to MS Dhoni’s captaincy. Sadhguru explained the difference in their captaincy by saying:
“Well, Sourav Ganguly provided us certain triumphs and a new spirit of competition, but Dhoni brought a particular type of serenity and control and, you know, a whole different kind of mood on the cricket field, a sense of bonding with everyone,” says Dhoni. I believe he did a fantastic job for the country, and I believe the younger generation has improved upon it. That’s a fantastic idea.”

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni has been re-signed by his Chennai Super Kings franchise for the upcoming 2022 Indian Premier League season. Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Moeen Ali have also been retained by CSL.
