However, what many may not know is that “Jawan” features a real-life soldier in its cast. Sangay Tsheltrim, who plays a pivotal role in the film, is a former member of the Bhutanese Army.

Who is Sangay Tsheltrim?

Sangay Tsheltrim, born on March 5, 1982, is a versatile personality hailing from Bhutan. He’s recognized for his roles as an actor, model, businessman, bodybuilder, former Army officer, and social media sensation.

Notably, Sangay served in the Bhutanese Army for nearly two decades and holds deep pride in that part of his life. He shared a heartfelt photo of himself in uniform, expressing,

“The best thing that happened in my life was wearing this uniform. I felt different, I felt honoured, I still feel proud and I feel blessed. Once a soldier, always a soldier. The Royal Bodyguards 2008-2013.”

Why did he leave the Army?

His passion for fitness, ignited during his military service, eventually led to a thriving bodybuilding career, prompting him to leave the Army.

In his bodybuilding journey, Sangay competed internationally and earned the prestigious title of “Mr. Bhutan.” Interestingly, he stumbled into acting a few years ago, landing a role in Salman Khan’s action-packed film “Radhe.” Sangay portrayed a negative character in his Bollywood debut and attributed it to destiny and Salman Khan’s generosity.

Played the character of a police officer named Juju in Jawan

In “Jawan,” Sangay Tsheltrim takes on the role of Juju, a police officer who has a gripping encounter with SRK’s anti-hero in the movie’s opening scenes. Their clash leads to an intense fight scene that adds depth to the film’s storyline. As a former soldier from the Bhutanese Army, Sangay brings a unique authenticity to the cast of “Jawan,” a film centred around soldiers.
