It is not just wrinkles, grey hair, hands, and necks that display the true age of a person. At first sight, there are also other symptoms of ageing that are not apparent. And it is these dark attributes which treacherously add to the members of the beautiful half of the planet more years.

We are certain that a woman is not destroyed by changes during ageing, but they give her a special charm and allure. Even, it can be useful to know about these shifts, which is why we compiled a list of subtle, but very demonstrative, signs that will show the true age of the most ardent visitors to the beauty salon.

1. The forehead becomes flat.

We can hardly believe that the age-related atrophy of the subcutaneous fat layer is possibly the explanation for the loss of volume in this section of the body. The Botox injections that so many individuals enjoy just exacerbate this problem, by the way. Even if the forehead stays smooth, it will lose its volume and display the true age of a woman.

2. Lips lose their volume and moisture.

Unfortunately, over the years, the shape of your lips will change. They lose their volume, become drier, and around them, they get so-called purse-string wrinkles. Lips that used to be juicy, plump, and sensual are getting smaller and thinner visually.

3. The shape and size of the belly button change too.

Due to additional weight, diseases such as omphalocele, piercings, and pregnancies, this portion of the body will alter its original look with age.

4. Dark circles appear under the eyes.

Due to low collagen development after the age of 30, the subcutaneous fat layer becomes thinner. The skin around the eyes loses its density, becomes more translucent and begins to show blood vessels, resulting in dark circles under the eyes forming.

5. The earlobes stretch and increase in size.

The earlobes, much like the hands and the ears, are also an age predictor. Women think about them even less than about other parts of the body, as shocking as it is. Sadly, earlobes lose their thin fat layer and elasticity as well. As a result, they get stretched out and the situation is made worse by the affection for broad and heavy earrings.

6. The brow ridges are lowered, the look becomes less open.

Good skin tension keeps our eyebrows in place when we are young and does not cause them to ‘slide’ down. With age, however, the collagen that sustains our skin’s elasticity and firmness are no longer created as aggressively, and due to gravity, the facial muscles weaken and sag. As a result, our foreheads gradually shift down, being squeezed by those muscles, and begin to hang over our eyes, giving a grumpy look to our face.

7. The “triangle of youth” gets inverted with its base down.

The shape of our heads, when we are young, is reminiscent of a triangle with the apex facing downwards and the base along the forehead. It is the so-called “youth triangle.” But with age, the situation changes-it turns upside down with its base down.

Over the years, the subcutaneous fat layer’ slips’ down the face, the cheeks lose their former elasticity, and we get folds of nasolabial. Consequently, we don’t look as young as we did before anymore.

8. The complexion fades and the skin loses its lustre.

It is difficult not to note that, with age, the skin loses its healthy and glowing appearance and becomes duller. Decreased collagen and elastin synthesis is the main reason. Inadequate or insufficient treatment, lack of sleep, tiredness, an unhealthy diet, and poor behaviours often lead to this method.

9. The eyes and mouth corners move down.

The drooping corners of the lips and eyes give a slightly tired appearance to the face. For those that don’t always smile, this is particularly relevant; their facial muscles that help the corners of the mouth weaken much faster. Over the years, the skin around our eyes often loses its elasticity and colour, weak tendons and muscles can no longer “keep” the eye corners as they used to do in this area.
