Celebrities are no different than the rest of us when it comes to making poor decisions. Even when surrounded by a team of specialists to make judgments for them, they can make mistakes. Many articles have surfaced in which a celebrity has gone on a film-rejecting binge, just to have those films turn out to be blockbusters.

Kajol is one of the Bollywood actresses who has turned down a slew of films that were intended to make someone else’s fortune. Someone’s garbage is, after all, someone’s treasure.

1. Veer Zaara– 2004

In the cross-border love storey, Yash Chopra was interested on placing Kajol opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Kajol, being Kajol, declined the part, and it was given to Preity Zinta. After that, the rest is history.

2. Dil Toh Pagal Hai– 1997

I’m seeing a lot of FOMO for Kajol right now. Yash Chopra approached the actress about playing Karisma in the film. She apparently turned down the part since she didn’t like it. Karisma Kapoor went on to win a National Award for her performance.

3. Mohabbatein– 2000

Kajol was the first choice to play his dead girlfriend in the film, despite Shah Rukh Khan’s presence as his love interest. She turned down the part for reasons that no one knows about. The movie was a huge success.

4. 3 Idiots– 2009

Rajkumar Hirani’s original choice for the role of Priya (Virus’ daughter) in 3 Idiots was Kajol. She declined the offer, assuming she wouldn’t have much to do in the film as the protagonist’s girlfriend. So, she wasn’t altogether wrong, right?

5. Shakti: The Power– 2002

Kajol was offered Karisma Kapoor’s role in Shakti: The Power, in which she played a devoted mother vowed to defend her son. There were rumours that Ajay Devgn didn’t want to work with SRK again, which may have contributed to the refusal.

6. Chalte Chalte– 2003

The role of Kajol in this superhit love film starring Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji was first given to her. She had to play a woman from the upper class who fell in love with a man from the lower class. Fans are perplexed as to why Kajol turned down such a substantial role in Chalte Chalte.

7. Dil Se– 1998

The list on which Kajol regrets her decisions is incorrect. Mani Ratnam’s film is a cinematic marvel, and it is still regarded as one of the best films ever made on such a sensitive subject. Manisha Koirala was cast in the role of Meghna, and she did an outstanding job in it.

8. Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna– 2006

It turns out that the majority of the films Kajol turned down were starring Shah Rukh Khan. It’s possible that the on-screen couple’s enormous popularity is to blame. Kajol was offered the role of Rani Mukerji in the Karan Johar directed film. The job was reportedly turned down due to Ajay Devgn’s opposition.

9. Khamoshi: The Musical– 1996

Kajol’s career may have turned out differently if she hadn’t turned down so many fantastic films. Initially, Kajol was cast opposite Salman Khan in this Sanjay Leela Bhansali film. She declined, and it was given to Manisha Koirala.
