A simple online order for eggs turned into a nightmare for a Swiggy Instamart customer. When he started cracking them open, he discovered that almost every egg in the tray was badly rotten.
Indian journalist Sushant Sinha shared his experience on X after ordering a tray of eggs from the brand Dr Hen through Swiggy’s Instamart. In the video he posted, the eggs can be clearly seen spoiled from the inside.
What the Customer Said
In his post, Sinha wrote:
“What kind of life are we living? Ordered a tray of eggs from Dr Hen company via @Swiggy’s Instamart. Take a look at what came out in the name of eggs. Not just one—almost every egg turned out like this.”

He expressed strong disappointment over food quality and safety standards, adding:
“Even after paying all the taxes and spending more money, we can’t even get decent food. First, eat poison and head to the hospital, then fake medicines are waiting separately.”
The post quickly went viral, crossing over 317,000 views.
Public Reaction
Users reacted with shock and frustration. Many questioned the quality control of online grocery platforms and the overall food safety standards in the country.
Comments included:
- “Weak laws, corrupt system, corrupt justice system—this is what democracy is, right?”
- “This is just ridiculous. I can’t believe that these have become the food standards of our country.”
As of the latest update, Swiggy has not issued a public response to the complaint. The matter remains under discussion online.
