Online, old pictures of Pavel Durov have surfaced, leading to rumours that the CEO of Telegram had plastic surgery to change his appearance. Durov was detained in France lately on suspicion of being involved in the operation of a website that permits fraudulent, child abuse photos, dr*g trafficking, and illegal transactions.

Telegram’s CEO and millionaire founder is 39-year-old Russian-born entrepreneur Pavel Durov. He introduced Telegram, a chat service with end-to-end encryption that prioritises user privacy, in 2013.

According to Forbes, Durov is worth $15.5 billion. A little more than a week ago, the billionaire from Dubai was taken into custody in Paris.

Since 2011, Durov has shared content on Instagram. His most recent photos depict a man with a well-toned body and a full head of hair. Across the globe, the 39-year-old billionaire can be seen without a shirt in several photos.

Durov does not appear to have a receding hairline in the older photos, which contrasts sharply with his more recent ones. Following the publication of the older photos alongside the more current ones on social media, speculation that Durov underwent hair transplant surgery and plastic surgery went viral.

“Pavel Durov (CEO of Telegram) before his hair transplant and cosmetic surgery,” an image posted by a well-known X account says. Users debated whether the differences were organic or if he underwent plastic surgery after seeing the side-by-side comparison on Reddit.

It’s not a hair transplant, either. His hair is too lush and thick to undergo such a dramatic transformation from an HT. “It looks like he’s wearing a wig or hair system,” someone commented on Reddit.

His hair loss was far more advanced than in the first photo, so there’s a theory that it’s not a transplant but rather a hair system. As a result, after the procedure, the patient’s hairdo never looks as full as his, one Reddit user commented.

Another person speculated, “This is a well-done surgery.”
Not falling into the surgery narrative, one Reddit member commented, “Honestly, I think a lot of the facial “changes” are simply due to the much better angle and lighting on the second photo.”
