Recently, Telegram’s founder and CEO, Pavel Durov, disclosed that he has more than “100 biological kids”. He shared the same with his 5.7 million users on the chat app. I recently found out that I had more than 100 biological children. He questioned, “How is this conceivable for a guy who wants to live alone and has never been married?

According to Mr. Durov, a buddy made a “strange request” of him about fifteen years ago. “He explained that he and his spouse were unable to conceive because of a reproductive problem, and he begged me to give sperm to a clinic so they could become parents. Before I realised he was dead serious, I laughed my ass off,” he continued.

He claimed to have been informed by the clinic’s manager that there was a shortage of “high-quality donor material”. Continuing, the physician stated that the 39-year-old had a “civic duty to donate more sperm to help more couples anonymously.”

“This sounded crazy enough to get me to sign up for sperm donation,” Mr. Durov went on. By the year 2024, my previous charitable endeavours had facilitated the birth of more than a hundred children across twelve nations. Furthermore, at least one IVF facility still keeps my frozen sperm available for people looking to conceive surreptitiously, even though I ceased being a donor many years ago.”

The businessman declared that he now intends to make his DNA publicly available so that his biological offspring can get in touch with one another. Speaking about the value of healthy sperm, Mr Durov expressed his pride in fulfilling his obligation. Although there are hazards, of course, I’m glad I donated. I’m glad that I was able to contribute to the global effort to address the growing problem of sperm scarcity.

Additionally, I want to encourage more healthy guys to donate their sperm and help de-stigmatize the practice altogether so that families who are having trouble conceiving will have more options. “Redefine the norm – defy convention,” he posted on Telegram.

His post has received over 1.8 million views since it was shared. A screenshot of his tweet was circulated on X (formerly Twitter), to which a variety of responses were given.

“Tech CEOs’ new hubristic hobby seems to be competing on several offspring they can claim – without ever loving them or being in their lives,” a user said.

Another stated, “The funniest part is that there are still some of his sperm donations left and preserved in one of the facilities.”

When you “donate” your sperm to IVF centres, this is what occurs. A third person said, “I don’t see how this can be spun as a win.”
