A recent study has identified the world’s most “risky” destinations for tourists to visit in 2024. According to rankings by Forbes Advisor, the most unsafe places for foreign tourists include cities in Venezuela, Pakistan, and Myanmar.
To generate a trip safety rating, the study examined 60 worldwide cities based on seven risk categories: digital security, infrastructure, natural disaster, crime, personal security, and health.

After that, a score out of 100 was determined to represent the general risk to tourists visiting the city. Travellers who took city breaks to Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, were most at risk. It is the only city to get a perfect 100 on the danger scale.
There is no recommended travel to any portion of Venezuela, according to the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
The FCDO states that there is a significant risk of terrorist attacks worldwide that could impact British persons and UK interests. Due to the potential of terrorism in the area, Karachi, Pakistan, was ranked as the second most dangerous city for visitors in another nation that was included on the “do not travel” list.
Yangon, Myanmar ranked third with a score of 91.67, indicating a significant danger of identity theft, a high frequency of natural disasters, and subpar healthcare services.
Singapore, on the other hand, was determined to be the city that visitors are safest to visit.
Due to its minimal risk of natural disasters, health security, and infrastructure threats, the nation in Southeast Asia was assigned a risk score of 0.
Tokyo, Japan, was ranked as the second safest city, and Toronto, Canada, came in third, both having hazard scores for tourists under 15.
