Following the twin earthquakes on June 24, 2026, Milo spent 12 days beneath the debris of a destroyed building in La Guaira, Venezuela.

Whether he was still alive was unknown.

He was eventually located on the fourth level of the collapsed building by a K9 dog.

The USAR El Salvador unit—the same group that had rescued Camila Sofía Medina Rivas, 15, and her dog a few days earlier—arrived there along with brothers Ángel and Pablo Vega, leaders of Topos Azteca of Nayarit, Mexico.

After Cariaco in 1997 and the Vargas landslip in 1999, this was Topos Azteca’s third visit to Venezuela to save lives.

The life they rescued this time had four legs and had been waiting under the concrete for twelve days.
