Deepika Padukone revealed the real reason she ended her relationship with Siddharth in an interview with TBT. According to the actress, she made every effort to keep her relationship with Siddharth going, but the actor’s actions had turned into something “disgusting.” She continued by saying that she felt embarrassed because Siddharth had asked her to pay the bill during their most recent date. “I tried hard to make the relationship work but his (Siddharth) behaviour in recent times has been disgusting. The last time we met on a dinner date he asked me to pay the bill. That was so embarrassing for me.”

The actress called it ‘cheap’ and disclosed that he insisted she take a car rather than a Mercedes. Deepika also mentioned that she felt embarrassed when Siddharth took her to a cheap bazaar and haggled for a top after she requested him to purchase her a dress. She added that Siddharth had requested her to settle the Taj’s bills. Deepika disclosed:
“So cheap yaa! First, he insisted we travel by auto instead of the Merc. Then when I asked him for a dress, he took me to a low-end bazaar with an end-of-season sale offer and bargained like crazy for the one top he finally bought; I was so embarrassed! Asking me to pick up the tab after our meal at the Taj was the last straw!”

However, Siddharth Mallya also discussed his sudden split with Deepika Padukone. He said in an interview that he thinks Deepika is ‘mad’. He said that although he promised Deepika that he would reimburse her money after his father, Vijay Mallya,’s debts were paid off and the government released him, she chose not to settle down. Siddharth went on to say that Deepika had to have forgotten that he had given her a number of pricey presents. As said by Siddharth:
“Deepika is a crazy female, I told her that I’ll return her money once dad clears his debts and the government sets him free but she was just not ready to settle down. She has forgotten the time I gifted her with expensive diamonds, luxurious bags, have spent so much on her vacations and hosted parties for her friends on her behalf.”
