Amid the ongoing controversy involving Bollywood star Salman Khan and gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, an old video of actor Vivek Oberoi praising the Bishnoi community has recently resurfaced. The video, taken at an event in Dubai in February last year, has caught the attention of social media users, adding more fuel to the fire in light of Vivek’s complicated past with Salman.
What Vivek Oberoi Said
In the resurfaced video, Vivek Oberoi can be heard speaking in Hindi, praising the Bishnoi community for their unique compassion toward animals. He says, “Try looking up the Bishnoi community on Google. You won’t find a scene like that across the world. In every household, including mine, we feed cow’s milk to kids. There’s only one community in the whole world – the Bishnoi community – where if a fawn’s mother dies, the Bishnoi mothers take it in their laps and feed them milk like they feed their kids. You won’t find this anywhere else in the world.”
The video is now making rounds on social media, with many finding irony in Vivek’s statements. One user commented, “Dushman Ka Dushman Lawrence Ka Dost (An enemy of his enemy is Lawrence’s friend),” while another wrote, “He’s taking his revenge.” The resurfacing of this video has sparked several such remarks, with some accusing Vivek of indirectly stirring the controversy.
The Salman Khan-Vivek Oberoi History
The video’s viral nature is also due to Vivek’s well-known rocky history with Salman Khan. In 2003, Vivek held a press conference where he accused Salman of threatening him because of his relationship with Aishwarya Rai, who had recently broken up with Salman in a very public and messy split. Since then, Vivek and Salman have had a strained relationship, with fans keeping an eye on any potential interactions between the two.
The Current Controversy with Lawrence Bishnoi
Lawrence Bishnoi, currently in prison, has repeatedly expressed his resentment against Salman Khan, especially due to the blackbuck poaching case in which the Bishnoi community played a crucial role, as they hold the blackbuck sacred. The tensions escalated recently when former Maharashtra minister and close Salman associate, Baba Siddique, was killed by assailants in Mumbai. Bishnoi’s involvement in the case is part of the ongoing investigation.
The resurfaced video of Vivek praising the Bishnoi community has reignited interest in the actor’s past with Salman, further complicating the ongoing controversy.
