Despite the fact that Ukraine is going through one of the most difficult periods in its history, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stands firm.
Millions of families have fled Ukraine for safety in neighbouring countries, but Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife Olena, as well as many other Ukrainians willing to protect their homeland, have remained.

Today’s post is about Volodymyr Zelensky and Olena Zelenska’s undying love. They are both from Kryvyi Rih, a tiny village in central Ukraine. They attended the same school but had never met.
Volodymyr had feelings for Olena, but he didn’t reveal them until he was ready. Volodymyr told The Daily Mail that on their last day of school, he felt genuine affection for Olena:
“It was only on our last day of school that it hit me.”
Both of them proceeded to different universities after high school. Volodymyr approached Olena on the street in 1995 and asked if he could borrow a DVD she had with her. It was a film he had watched several times before, and he was only looking for a way to strike up a discussion and gain Olena’s phone number.

They started dating in 2002 and married in 2003, and they were completely in love with each other. Aleksandra Zelenskaya and Kiril Zelenskiy were the couple’s two gorgeous children. Volodymyr Zelensky was elected President of Ukraine in 2019, and his wife Olena was elected First Lady. The extraordinary pair has been married for 18 years.
Olena wrote about her hubby in a nice Instagram post:
You know, I’m sure you’re looking at me in this picture. Because you always look at me like that.”
“I wish every woman had such looks. Only those who truly love look like that. I always feel your love. As long as you look like that, I’m not afraid of anything.”
“We still have things ahead of us. So take care of yourself. We have to realise everything we dream of together. Happy birthday, my love! I promise to look back at you. Just like that. Always!”
When Ukraine was engulfed in catastrophe, Olena wrote these bold and inspiring remarks on Instagram:
“I will not have panic and tears. I will be calm and confident. My children are looking at me. I will be next to them. And next to my husband. And with you.”
While we wait for things to settle in Ukraine every day, it’s uplifting and charming to witness Ukraine’s President and First Lady be courageous.
