When you fall in love with someone, everything in your life, from your attitude to your life goals, can be turned upside down. Any of these developments would go unnoticed if it weren’t for the curiosity of researchers.

1. Dopamine is produced by your brain (causing euphoria).

When you think of a loved one, your body releases a hormone that causes you to feel happy (dopamine). You will get the same high by doing something you love, such as consuming good food or listening to your favourite music.

Scientists agree that the fact that we are rewarded for loving with the feeling of satisfaction plays an important role in our mating, which helps to ensure that humanity does not become extinct.

2. Love lowers our blood pressure.

According to statistics, almost every other adult in the United States suffers from high blood pressure, but there is more good news for those who have found their ‘happily ever after’ — marriages will help to minimise blood pressure. Even something as basic as a short conversation before leaving for work or having dinner together can make a huge difference. However, keep in mind that this will not be enough to fully solve your dilemma. You should also talk to your doctor about it.

Scientists discovered that when we look at our significant other, our brain activates a process that decreases our perception of pain. Although looking at a photo of our romantic partner would not be as effective as anaesthesia, it is still a nice bonus to know that just thinking about you will make your loved one feel better.

There are so many ways that finding your soulmate will benefit your physical wellbeing that researchers are still enlightening us with new findings — some of which have already been confirmed. We already know that love leads to a healthy heart, a stronger immune system, weight loss, and even a longer life, making the vow “’til death do us part” even more steadfast.

According to one study, men who are in a loving relationship have stronger bones. This fact has scientists asking whether it is a natural reaction or if it is simply the fact that men in relationships take better care of their health and eat better.

Even if the cause is unclear, the truth remains that your partner can have stronger bones as a result of you. And who knows how many other positive effects you have on your partner that scientists will discover in the future.

6. You can have stomach problems.

To some extent, the term “butterflies in your stomach” is accurate. Even though love is a wonderful feeling, it can cause your cortisol levels to rise. Cortisol is a hormone that is often linked to stress. It has the potential to upset your stomach and make you feel nauseous. The sensation is close to what brides feel on their wedding day, as they become so anxious that they feel sick.

7. It’s possible that your partner is causing you chronic pain.

At some point in their lives, everybody feels down. However, if it happens to your partner and they are depressed, there is a 19 percent risk that you will develop chronic pain. It’s no surprise that up to 70% of adults suffer from lower back pain.
