A role for actors can be a gamble: it could be a blast that makes them super-popular or it could be a disaster that puts their entire career at risk. Even the most popular actors can find themselves in this kind of trouble. For example, after Gigli, Ben Affleck spent several years rebuilding his image and Halle Berry jeopardized her career with her role in Catwoman.

Taylor Lautner

The young and strong Lautner became really popular right after Twilight’s release but he didn’t know what to do after the franchise ended. And the Abduction movie is the one which pulled him down. Although the film was not a total failure in the box office, the critics thought Lautner’s performance was terrible.

Lautner has been trying to revive his career since then but he’s not doing very well: all the movies he’s been in since Twilight got very bad reviews from viewers.

Taylor Lautner Wife

Taylor Lautner and Tay Dome, his longtime girlfriend, are getting ready to marry the married. Twilight star Edward Cullen proposed to his fiancée in November 2021, and the couple announced their engagement on Instagram. On November 11, 2021, he confirmed that they were engaged.

Demi Moore

Demi Moore began her career in the mid-1980s, and in the 1990s she was among the industry’s most well-paid actresses. Yet she didn’t know that a stain on her image would be the task she spent every day in the gym training for and learning how to strip.

The film Striptease got 6 Golden Raspberries and became almost the worst film of its decade. Moore also got her fair share of criticism: Critics criticized her dancing. And the film G.I. Jane couldn’t have put her back on top in Hollywood with Demi’s great acting.

Brendan Fraser

This is a case where he struggled in the same role that first made an actor famous, then. Fraser was successful even before The Mummy was released, but it was this film that made him a famous star. The sequel was also a success, but part 3 is where things got really wild, the fans were disappointed and Brendan’s future was put at risk.

The actor played in several roles each year until 2014 but none of them helped him get famous again.

Nicolas Cage

Cage’s facial expressions are an art form that’s proven with his face by the millions of memes. By the way, when he worked on Vampire’s Kiss and Face / Off which is when his career was blooming, his talent for making funny faces was useful. But the first troubling sign was the release of the film The Wicker Man, where the star had gone too far with his image.

Following this disappointment, Cage continued to star in good films until he was given a role at the box office in Drive Angry which had terrible results. The actor was also forced to pay $13 million in taxes in 2012 which made him accept roles in some really bad movies and resulted in multiple Golden Raspberry awards.

Kristin Kreuk

The charming Kristin Kreuk’s career has gone south following her main Street Fighter appearance. The film was not shown to a focus group for some reason. There was no good story, it was all clichés, and all the fight scenes looked ridiculous. Rotten Tomatoes called the film The Worst Film and audiences harshly criticized Kreuk.

Taylor Kitsch

Taylor Kitsch became a prisoner of that role after his appearance in Friday Night Lights: both audiences and critics saw him only as this depressed character. Yet Disney decided to take a chance on this actor in 2012 and he got the main role in John Carter: it didn’t earn much money and Kitsch’s performance wasn’t very good.

His second key role was not forgiven in the 2012 film Battleship, which was Kitsch’s second box office failure. He still appears in films but none of them was very successful.

Adam Sandler

Although the roles in Adam Sandler’s career weren’t all good, he was on the list of the best Hollywood comedians for a long time and he sometimes paid about $25 million for his roles. But the patience of critics and fans ended after the film Jack and Jill which was written and produced by Adam himself.

The film garnered a record number of nominations for Golden Raspberry. It won 10 awards including The Worst Movie.

Today Sandler stars only in his company’s films, Happy Madison, most of which don’t even make it to the big screen.

Lindsay Lohan

Everybody knows that the career of Lindsay Lohan has gone south for reasons unrelated to her work, but it was the film I Know Who Killed Me that made critics question whether Lindsay was indeed talented. Before that horrible thriller, nearly every movie with Lohan was a hit, but all of her movies after that were in no way good.

Eddie Murphy

The Dreamgirls drama for which Eddie Murphy won the Golden Globe and was nominated for Oscar was his last good film in his career. Only one year later Eddie was awarded 3 Golden Raspberry awards for his Norbit parts.

The film, which was full of bad sexist jokes, received from critics a lot of bad reviews.

Orlando Bloom

Black Hawk Down, The Lord of the Rings, Caribbean Pirates, Troy — Orlando Bloom did quite well until he agreed to play a part in Elizabethtown, the comedy-drama. The dull movie was an American box office disaster, it received the lowest ratings from film critics, and it destroyed the career of Orlando.

Of course, in The Three Musketeers and Romans, he tried to do something but it wasn’t really enough.

What Hollywood stars in your opinion have played the most awful roles?
