After Reliance Industries Executive Director Anant Ambani intervened, a kid from West Bengal who spent the majority of his time in ponds due to an enigmatic and crippling illness was taken to Mumbai for medical care.
Iqbal, a youngster from Murshidabad, had been spending his days and nights in ponds. According to his family, every time he emerged from the water, he complained of a severe burning sensation.
He also talked about feeling as though a mystical force had taken control of him, which caused him to stay underwater for hours, according to an ANI report.

After a video of Iqbal eating snacks while sitting in a pond appeared on social media, more people became aware of his peculiar routine. The video aroused worries about the length of time he was spending in the water and led medical professionals to investigate his condition.
According to ANI, plans were made to transport Iqbal to Mumbai for additional assessment after Ambani’s involvement.
After being airlifted from West Bengal, he was brought to Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital and is currently receiving expert medical evaluation and care.
Since Iqbal was often spotted in ponds from early in the morning till late at nite, people in his neighbourhood had begun to worry about his health. He would occasionally travel from one body of water to another and stay in the water for extended periods of time.
His health did not improve, according to his parents, who told ANI that they had previously taken him to a hospital in an effort to find a solution. They added that the family had requested assistance because they were unable to pay for the lengthy course of treatment.
Medical professionals have cautioned that spending so much time in the water can cause major health issues on its own, even as they try to figure out what is causing Iqbal’s symptoms.

According to a dermatologist at Seth Sukhlal Karnani Memorial (SSKM) Hospital, prolonged immersion may cause skin maceration, which is characterised by pale, delicate skin that is more prone to irritation, fissures, and infection.
Keeping the skin moist all the time may raise the risk of bacterial and fungal infections, according to another specialist. The physician emphasised that Iqbal needed a thorough medical assessment and shouldn’t keep working long hours in ponds.
Now that Iqbal is in Mumbai, medical professionals at Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital are expected to evaluate his condition and decide on the best course of action.
