From a Depressed Housewife to a Model at 58, How Caroline Labouchere Proves Life Only Begins After

There are more and more obstacles to beauty for modern women. One of them is the concept of grey hair itself. People acknowledge that it takes enormous guts and self-confidence to embrace greying and that women’s silver hair needs to be dyed and coloured to make it acceptable in society.

There are certain women, nevertheless, who demonstrate that grey hair is not a burden but rather a lovely ornament that enhances any woman’s impeccable attractiveness. The heroine of today can demonstrate this by using her own example.

London is where Caroline Labouchere is originally from. She felt insecure and developed a dread of ageing due to her father leaving her when she was a little child. The mother of two felt “needy and insignificant” in her twenties and forties. She dyed her hair, which was already starting to turn grey, to fight the effects of age.

Labouchere said in an interview, “I was raised up to not gaze at mirrors. Not even on my wedding day, I don’t believe I ever felt attractive. I once turned away from a camera when I was younger. In the past year of my life, I haven’t felt as beautiful as I do now.

Her goals for the future were rather practical. She revealed in her interview that I left school at age 16 because I didn’t like it. I took a dressmaking/pattern-cutting course and a Cordon Bleu cookery course. There were no aspirations for a career—to travel, get married, and start a family.

One day literally changed the woman’s life completely.

This sense of helplessness and uneasiness may have persisted forever, but all of a sudden, Labouchere had the opportunity to view herself differently.

Amelia, her daughter, revealed that her boss was seeking a grey hair ambassador in November 2017 when she was 23 and working as a model. And the mother had a great opportunity here. I wasn’t a model, but I was grey, Labouchere recalled.

Years after that fortunate encounter, Labouchere has never looked back, as evidenced by the fact that her images are currently appearing in British Vogue.

Despite feeling ordinary about her appearance during her forties and early fifties, Labouchere developed a mild obsession with anti-ageing techniques. She would colour her grey hair, use anti-ageing products that were heavily promoted, and undergo facials, Botox, and fillers.

But since she seized that modelling chance in 2017, Labouchere has never felt better about her appearance. I’ve never wanted to look old, she declared. It is not necessary for the present era with advancements in nutrition, cosmetics, and medicine. In comparison to my 20s and 30s, I have considerably more courage and confidence. I virtually always say yes to invitations and attend parties alone.

“I think males still prefer younger ladies,” she continued. Don’t call me ‘old,’ even though the attention I receive is largely good. She made a comment about her own beauty and going natural in another interview, adding, “I think I’ve gotten better looking as I’ve gotten older. Now I feel whole. being grey somehow does give you more power. It’s my crowning achievement.

Currently, Labouchere is living her best life and empowering women.

“At 58 years old, I am the person I always was but never had the opportunity to be,” Labouchere stated in her Instagram bio. She never gets tired of mesmerising people with her amazing photo shoots and takes pride in her grey hair and youthful appearance.

Although she and her husband, David, have had many difficult times together, they are now residing at Arabian Ranches in Dubai and are embracing life to the fullest. She refers to her children as her biggest investment and doesn’t have any elaborate plans for the future, choosing instead to be content in the here and now.

She advises women to use retinol-containing creams and to get a truly good cosmetologist among other things. She believes that daily makeup is one of the enemies of the young and opposes the persistent use of decorative cosmetics. She avoids touching her skin frequently and chooses to consume fewer sweets. Aside from that, she urges all women to take initiative and persevere on the path to self-love.

Are your tresses grey? How do you feel about becoming older and greying?
