We don’t have a perfect understanding of what is going on around us when we are children, especially when it comes to our parents. We prefer to refer to them as “dad” or “mom,” as if those are their titles, and we aren’t always sure what they do for a living. This is also true for celebrity children, who are generally taken aback when they learn how famous their parents are.
Valentino and Matteo Martin, sons of Ricky Martin
Ricky Martin, a Puerto Rican musician, said in an interview that he kept his twins backstage anytime he went to a concert with him. They were surprised when they were old enough to watch one of their father’s shows.
“When the kids were old enough, I told them to go to the front of the house,” says the mother. They approached me after seeing the lights and the entire display and exclaimed, ‘Daddy, you’re Ricky Martin!’ ‘I’m not Ricky Martin, I’m your father!’ I answered. And they responded, ‘No, no, no, no, you’re Ricky Martin,’ and everything changed.”
Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell’s daughters, Lincoln and Delta
On The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, comedian Dax Shepard discussed how his girls reacted when they learned that he and his wife Kristen Bell were celebrities.
One of the females inquired as to whether people listen to his podcast because of him or his co-host. Dax explained that it was because of him that people began to pay attention. “But why?” his daughter inquired, to which he replied, “Well, darling, because daddy is famous!” His daughter was taken aback and inquired, “Does Mom know?” “Of course, my love, your mother is more famous than I am!” Shepard answered.
Kaia Gerber, Cindy Crawford’s daughter
Kaia Gerber, Cindy Crawford’s daughter, told Teen Vogue magazine in 2017 how she first learnt of her mother’s celebrity. “I guess it was at Disneyland on my eighth birthday that I realised what was going on. The model added, “I wanted to take pictures with the princesses, and everyone wanted to take pictures with her.”
Brooklyn Beckham, son of David Beckham
Brooklyn Beckham, Victoria and David Beckham’s son, revealed Wonderland magazine in 2017 how he found his father was a sports celebrity when he was 13 years old. “I was at a soccer game and people were yelling my father’s name, and I was like, ‘What, oh my gosh, I don’t see it that way.’”
Gwyneth Paltrow’s son Moses
In a 2013 interview, Gwyneth Paltrow explained what occurred to her son Moses when he learned of her celebrity. They were going to see Justin Bieber, and her son realised right away that Justin Bieber and the other people he thought were so amazing knew who his mother was since she was in the Iron Man movie. Given that this was all new to him, he concluded, “Ah, you’re in the movie!”

Michael Jackson’s son, Michael Joseph Jackson, revealed in an interview with Good Morning America that it never occurred to him or his brothers that their father was a music star.
“I believe it was when we viewed videos of him performing that we first noticed it. ‘OK, it’s usual to see ladies fainting during concerts,’ I reasoned. But it was when I witnessed big-muscled men fainting that I thought, ‘There’s something else going on here,'” he joked.

Rumer Willis is the eldest daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, who are both actors. She claimed that she had no idea how well-known her parents were. “When we went to Disneyland, people would come up to us and attempt to get their photo taken, and I didn’t get it,” Rumer explained.
