Madhuri Dixit Nene, one of Bollywood’s most well-known actresses, is presently promoting her Netflix show The Fame Game. The show has already debuted on the OTT behemoth, and it is her first foray into the digital realm.

Madhuri, widely known as the Dhak Dhak girl, began her career in Bollywood in the 1980s and peaked in the 1990s. While she was still delivering hit after blockbuster at the time, the actress stunned audiences by kissing in the 1988 film Dayavan.

Kissing sequences were uncommon in movies back then, and Madhuri’s lip-lock with veteran actor Vinod Khann sparked controversy. She later came to regret kissing in Dayavan.

According to a fan page dedicated to the Devdas actress, she responded to the controversy in an old interview by saying, “In retrospect, I believe I should have just stated, “No, I don’t want to do it.” But then I became a little apprehensive about doing it. It was as if I was an actress, and the director had envisioned the scene in a specific way, so not doing it would jeopardise the story “..

She went on to say, “I didn’t know anything about the industry or its working practises because I didn’t come from a film household. I didn’t realise you could refuse to do kissing scenes at the time. So I went ahead and did it. However, after seeing the movie, I began to wonder why I had done it. The kiss added nothing to the movie. So I made the decision to stop doing any further kissing scenes and never did another “..

For the uninitiated, the actress continued to appear in films until 2002’s Devdas. She took a hiatus from Bollywood after that and returned in 2007 with Aaja Nachle. Since then, she has appeared in films such as Dedh Ishqiya (2014), Gulaab Gang (2014), Bucket List (Marathi debut in 2018), Total Dhamaal (2019), and Kalank, in which she has played full-fledged roles (2019).
