Nowadays, among content makers, pranking individuals for social media likes has grown popular. Recently, a video of a woman costumed as “Manjulika” from the 2007 Bollywood film “Bhool Bhulaiya” appeared on Instagram. An influencer named Preeti Thapa is seen in the now-viral video wearing a green saree, her hair unkempt, and makeup all over her face. As the video continues, the girl dances in the middle of a Guwahati street to the song “Ami Je Tomar” while onlookers gawk at her.

The video was captioned as ”Manjulika spotted in Guwahati.”

Ms Thapa expressed her gratitude to her fans for enjoying the video in the comments section. She wrote, ”Guys words aren’t enough to express my thankfulness. Thrilled by the abundance of love and support. I hope to entertain you all forever, so thank you for your support and blessings. Nothing, not even Fancy Bazaar, can match the atmosphere of Guwahati.

The public’s response to the video has been divided; some have described it as “harmless fun,” while others have chastised her for obstructing traffic and upsetting nearby residents. ”Dear Manjulika, please observe traffic rules,” wrote one user.

Another commented, ”Desperate to get famous.” A third said, ”I respect your confidence level.” A fourth added, ”Social anxiety is afraid of her.”

Ms. Thapa describes herself as a “Social Activist, Influencer, and Artist” in her Instagram account. In addition, she placed first runner-up in the 2012 Mega Miss Northeast pageant.

Releasing in 2007, the cult favourite ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ featured Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan in a psychological horror comedy. Years after its premiere, ‘Manjulika’s’ eerie presence still enthrals audiences because of Ms. Balan’s outstanding performance as the legendary figure. On social media, memes with her well-known facial expressions and quotes are still very popular.
