IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Mallika Sagar will once again be the centre of attention as the auctioneer for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction, which is set for November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The 48-year-old trailblazer, who succeeded Hugh Edmeades, who served in that capacity from 2019 to 2022, made history at the 2024 auction by being the first female IPL auctioneer.
Mallika initially gained notoriety in 2023 when Edmeades passed out in the middle of the sale and Mallika took over as auctioneer. Later that year, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) appointed her as the IPL’s full-time auctioneer after she received considerable acclaim for her cool-headed handling of the matter.
The expert from Mumbai has overseen the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) and Women Premier League (WPL) auctions, among other sports tournaments.
