The internet is divided over a video showing a group of guys taking photos with a traditional Vietnamese woman. Some defended the individuals, while others attempted to disparage them with racial comments.
An Instagram page shared the video that was first uploaded on TikTok along with the caption, “If you travel to Vietnam around the Lunar New Year (Tết) holiday, you’ll have the opportunity to see many Vietnamese women wearing traditional Ao Dai while taking photos to commemorate the new year most of everywhere around the big cities.” They do this in the hopes that, like the Ao Dai they wear, the upcoming year would bring them grace, beauty, and health. The page also asked, “Do you like this Ao Dai of Vietnam?”

In the video, a number of guys can be seen waiting in queue to pose next to a woman wearing an Ao Dai. After taking photos, other people can also be seen giving her the thumbs up.

Social media fights are triggered by videos:
On the video, someone wrote, “Indian men, embarrassing India everywhere.” One more said, “Indians. Be careful, girl. Another said, “Always Indians.”
Others, on the other hand, arrived to support the men and emphasise that they weren’t acting inappropriately towards the women. Rather, they posed politely and “said thank you.”
“I don’t know why people hate on them,” one person said, “since they are being really respectful, not touching the female, waiting for their time, and saying thank you afterwards. merely due to the fact that they are Indian? Another said, “When they see traditional people in Japan, other foreigners also do the same thing.” It’s awful if a brown person, primarily Indian, does this. Whoa. “Racism is at its peak now,” a person on Instagram remarked.
