Regarding his history of viral searches, what does Riyan Parag have to say?
Riyan Parag discussed the situation regarding his search history in an interview with City1016 Radio. He disclosed that when he opened YouTube to play music, his search history was exposed. In reference to this, Riyan stated,
I finished the IPL, we were in Chennai, finished the match, got on a Discord call with my streaming team, and it got publicized now, but it happened before the IPL. One of the people in my Discord team tried to set me up before the IPL, but that got taken down very quickly. But then after the IPL, the hype was there, and I had a good season. I came and opened my stream; I didn’t have Spotify or Apple Music. Everything was deleted.
Moreover, Riyan claimed that it wasn’t until the stream ended that he realised it. But because he thought it was overblown, he simply chose to remain silent about it until now.
He went on,
So I went on YouTube to put on music, and I searched for music. But I didn’t know what was happening, but once I did, the stream ended, I was like, Oh s**t! This happened.
When asked why he first refrained from going public, Riyan Parag said he didn’t believe it was required. The problem, he explained, had been overblown. He stated,
It just got blown out of proportion. I didn’t think it was good enough a reason for me to go out publicly and clarify everything and no one would understand.
Riyan Parag set to make his awaited comeback after injury
Riyan Parag, meantime, is actively involved with Indian cricket in a number of ways. After recovering from a shoulder injury that prevented him from playing in the home series against England and the T20I series in South Africa, he led Assam in the Ranji Trophy starting on January 30, 2025.
