The controversy surrounding Samy Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia: On Tuesday, the Supreme Court prohibited India’s Got Talent host and comedian Samay Raina, YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, and Apoorva Makhija, also known as The Rebel Kid, from hosting any more episodes of the show till further notice.
The ruling was made at a hearing on Ranveer’s request to combine several FIRs that had been filed against him in several states, including Maharashtra and Assam, for his divisive comment regarding “parental s*x” on Samay Raina’s YouTube program. All episodes, including those involving members only, have been removed from YouTube, not just the Ranveer Allahbadia episode of India’s Got Talent.
A footage from an unaired episode of the show is currently going popular on social media amid the continuing issue. The show was supposed to have rapper KRSNA, comedian Tanmay Bhat, social media star Uorfi Javed, and director-choreographer Farah Khan.
As the panellists take the stage, Samay is seen welcoming them in the video. In a gesture of respect, he dives to touch Farah Khan’s feet as he shakes hands and embraces Tanmay, KRSNA, and Uorfi. In her characteristically light-hearted manner, Farah halts him and makes a teasing motion that looks like a smack. Urfi had left the show in the middle of December 2024 after being disparaged by a few competitors at that time. Urfi Javed responded to the uproar on her Instagram story, writing, “I think I missed the memo, nowadays people think it’s cool to abuse someone or just slut shame someone for some views.” I apologise, but I don’t tolerate being mistreated or shamed by a slut because of my body count—which they don’t know, but thought must be high. What’s all this for? For two minutes of fame? When I asked the man who mistreated me why he was pretending to be disabled, he became really angry with me and wasn’t even kidding!
Ranveer Allahbadia has been instructed by a Supreme Court bench to assist in the investigation of the FIRs filed in Maharashtra and Assam.
