The Doordarshan channel declared the re-telecasting of mythological epics like Mahabharat and Ramayan in the middle of the lockdown to keep us occupied and remind us of the good old days. People are enjoying the re-run of these shows all over the country.

Mukesh Khanna’s words don’t mince. For the different adaptations of Ramayan and Mahabharat made on the small screen, the director, who is best known for his role in Mahabharat and Shaktimaan, previously lashed out at Ekta Kapoor. Nevertheless, Sonakshi Sinha is unimpressed with him this time around. In a new interview, the famous television actor called out the Dabangg star. Mukesh was talking to Times of India about the return of Ramayan and Mahabharat when he lashed out Sonakshi.

Taking a dig at Sonakshi Singa, Mukesh Khanna had said

“I think the re-runs will be useful to many who haven’t watched the show earlier. It will also help people like Sonakshi Sinha who have no knowledge about our mythological sagas. People like her don’t know who did lord Hanuman get Sanjivani for.”

Okay, the comments made by Mukesh Khanna did not go well with Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha’s father who has finally opened up about the same thing and slammed the actor for the same thing. Shatrughan Sinha said in an interview with Bollywood Hungama,

“I believe someone has problem with Sonakshi not answering a question on the Ramayan. Firstly what qualifies this person to be an expert on all things to do with the Ramayan? And who has appointed him the guardian of the Hindu religion? I am very proud of all my three children. Sonakshi became a star on her own. I never had to launch her career. She is a daughter any father would be proud to have. Not answering a question on the Ramayan doesn’t disqualify Sonakshi from being a good Hindu. She doesn’t need a certificate of approval from anyone.”

“Why target Sonakshi alone? There’s always a better way to say the same thing. A balanced, soft and empathetic way; and it is received better too. Seniors seem worthy of respect if they walk the path of empathy.”

Earlier, Nitish Bharadwaj who played Krishna alongside Mukesh Khanna in Mahabharat had also taken a dig at Mukesh Khanna. He had said in an interview,

Now that is some love that her doting wife, Shatrughna Sinha, showed towards Sonakshi.
