We’ve all heard that certain stars demand the moon for their movies. Not all directors, however, can afford to pay the outrageous rates that performers may demand.

We’ve seen numerous celebrities miss out on projects due of their costs, from Shah Rukh Khan to Nawazuddin Siddiqui. We look at some of these actors who were offered some fantastic roles but turned them down due to their financial decisions.

Surely, after the release of these films, these performers must have given serious consideration to their choices.

1. Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Nawazuddin Siddiqui was slated to play Anu Kapoor in Jolly LLB 2. However, the actor was adamant about demanding Rs 3.5 crores for the film, as well as a small percentage of the revenues, according to some sources. The film’s producers were less enthusiastic about this and chose Anu Kapoor instead.

2. Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan was reportedly approached about playing one of the male protagonists in Padmaavat. According to some stories, Alauddin Khalji played a role. The actor, on the other hand, demanded Rs 90 crores for the film. Because his costs would adversely distort the budget of the picture, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had to abandon the notion of casting him.

3. Kareena Kapoor

In Karan Johar’s Kal Ho Na Ho, Kareena Kapoor was offered the role of Naina. According to reports, she was asking nearly twice as much as she would normally charge at the time. As a result, Karan chose to sign Preity Zinta.

4. Sonakshi Sinha

In Kick, Sonakshi Sinha was meant to star alongside Salman Khan. Her fees, on the other hand, were expensive for the producers. Both parties negotiated for a while, but everything eventually fell apart when reports appeared that Deepika Padukone had been enlisted, which turned out to be incorrect. Jacqueline Fernandez was finally cast in the film.

5. Madhuri Dixit Nene

Even before the film’s release, Madhuri Dixit Nene was swamped with offers following her comeback with Aaja Nachle. Each of these flicks is expected to cost Rs 5 crores, according to Madhuri. Several producers, however, were hesitant to pay her that much, particularly following the publication of Aaja Nachle. As a result, she missed out on a number of opportunities.

6. Sridevi

Imagine Sridevi as Queen Sivagami in Baahubali. Well, she was offered the part, and everyone from the producers to the directors was eager to cast her in the movie. She was resolute, though, about the Rs 6 crores she was charging in fees. The filmmakers couldn’t afford to pay her that much, so they chose Ramya Krishnan instead.
