A dedicated fan was left heartbroken after riding his bicycle for over 1,200 kilometres from Delhi to Ranchi, hoping to meet MS Dhoni, only to leave without the opportunity, despite waiting for days outside the cricketer’s farmhouse.
Gaurav took to social media in an attempt to get his story noticed, hoping that Dhoni would respond. However, Dhoni, seemingly unaware of Gaurav’s efforts, didn’t stop to meet him, leading to criticism from some fans who accused Dhoni of being “arrogant.”
Gaurav Kumar, the fan, embarked on this long journey with just one goal – to meet his cricket hero. He camped outside Dhoni’s residence in Ranchi for almost a week, sleeping in a tent and hoping for a chance to meet the iconic player.
Although Gaurav did spot Dhoni driving out of the farmhouse a couple of times, the cricketer only waved from his car and didn’t stop to interact with him.
This young fan, Gaurav, pedalled 1,200 kilometres from Delhi to Ranchi on a bicycle, determined to meet Dhoni.
Interestingly, Dhoni has a reputation for frequently stopping to interact with fans outside his farmhouse. It’s possible that this time, Dhoni was in a rush or wasn’t aware of Gaurav’s long journey. This wasn’t Gaurav’s first attempt either—he had earlier cycled to Chennai during the IPL but couldn’t meet Dhoni then as well.
MS Dhoni, now 42 years old, is expected to play one final season in the IPL, with Chennai Super Kings likely retaining him for the 2025 season.
