Bihar is a remote region. It generates some of the most peculiar situations as well as one of the greatest numbers of IAS officials in India.
The strangeness of some of the situations that have happened in Bihar makes them almost sound manufactured.
We were able to compile a list because there are so many. Look at that!
1. Goons stole 2KM road
Two kilometres of road were stolen by thugs from the Bihar village of Kharouni, who replaced it with ploughed and sown wheat fields.
2. Fraudsters ran a fake Police Station just metres away from a real one
It took the authorities 8 months to discover that a bunch of scam artists in Banka, Bihar, had operated a bogus police station 500 metres from a legitimate one.
3. A Bihar University student scored 151 out of 100 on an exam
A BA Hons undergraduate student at Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU), Bihar, took the phrase “bonus points for neat handwriting” to a new level when he received a 151% on his Political Science exam. In addition, he failed that test!
4. Monkey visited a clinic with her baby to get her wounds treated by a Doctor
No, we’re not quoting a children’s rhyme. Around lunchtime in Bihar, a mother monkey and her young child arrived at Dr. S. M. Ahmed’s Medico Clinic in Sasaram’s Shahjama and sat on the patient’s seat to receive medical attention for their wounds.
5. A Coaching centre played an item number in class
A while back, a video that showed a teacher from a coaching centre named “Vikas” playing a Bhojpuri item number in the class while the audience laughed became viral on the internet. ‘Vikas’ kya hoga?
6. Bihar daily wager who earns ₹500/day got an Income Tax notice of ₹37.5 lakh
A daily wage earner from Maghauna village in the Khagaria district of Bihar, who makes 500 per day, received a 37.5 lakh rupee income tax notice.
7. A man created a model of his first car, a Mahindra Scorpio, and installed it on the terrace of his four-storey house
When a man in Bhagalpur, Bihar bought his first car, a Mahindra Scorpio, he constructed a Scorpio water tank on his terrace as a tribute to the vehicle.
8. A student fanned the teacher as she peacefully sleeps in class
In the West Champaran district’s Bagahi Puraina village, a teacher was observed dozing off while a student fanning her and the other students sat on the floor.
9. Thieves steal entire train engine by digging tunnel in Bihar’s railway yard
In an unprecedented instance, thieves stole a diesel engine piece by piece by building a tunnel to the yard in the Begusarai region of Bihar. For maintenance, the engine was carried into the yard. Three persons have been taken into custody, according to RPF Inspector PS Dubey, following the filing of a case at the Barauni police station.
