One of the most well-known child actors in India these days is Riva Arora, an actress best recognised for her part in Uri: The Surgical Strike. In the military-action movie, she played Suhani Kashyap, Major Vihaan Singh Shergill’s niece, and her moment at her father’s funeral still gives us goosebumps.
But she has recently been making news for all the wrong reasons!
Everything was going well for her when it was revealed that Riva and Karan Kundra was working on a project. She has, however, received a lot of attention on social media because of videos in which she is featured as a romantic and seductive figure alongside singer Mika Singh and actor Karan Kundra.
Netizens, like many others who fell into a similar trap, mistakenly believed this actress, who has never publicly disclosed her age, was “too young” to play attractive and feisty characters.
Online trolls recently harassed Riva, 12, for filming films with Mika Singh, 45, and Karan Kundra, 38. Some even claimed that she had cosmetic procedures and injections to make her look better.
It goes without saying that she became a target of trolls on social media, and what’s crucial to mention about this particular incident is that her parents were also made fun of for letting her appear in films with performers who were twice or three times her age.
Since Riva’s appearance in glittery and sappy videos was criticised by certain people on social media, days have passed. Her mother, Nisha Arora, who works as an advocate, has now responded to all of these accusations. She has dispelled the myth about her age that is being spread by numerous reputable publishers and internet users.
The mother of Riva Arora emphasised that her daughter is not 12 years old.
Nisha has debunked all rumours because the storm has slightly calmed down. The mudslingers have lately come under fire from Riva Arora’s mother, Nisha Arora, a few days after the rumours garnered national attention. Nisha refuted and called untrue the reports that Riva was 12 years old through her Instagram Stories.
“I was calm, but not anymore. The allegations on my daughter’s age are completely false and it’s a saying that false news travels faster then ever and many reputed social media channels proved it. It is sad to see and disheartening for me. Atleast you should have cross checked with me before upload on reputed pages. My daughter is an actor and working in industry since years (sic).”
Riva also reposted the remark on her Instagram Stories.
Nisha also spoke to India Forums about this, saying,
“It’s unfortunate to see renowned publications are spreading false information about a young girl without any verifications. My daughter is currently in the 10th grade. She has been working in the industry for more than 13 years and has achieved everything with utmost integrity and perseverance.”
Riva has contributed to a number of notable movies, including Uri, in which she played the daughter of Mohit Raina and Manasi Parekh. She appeared in Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar when she was just one and a half years old, marking her Bollywood debut.
She furthermore made appearances in a variety of films, such as Bharat, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, and Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. She also had an appearance in the popular online series Bandish Bandits. Riva also contributed to the Best Friends movie, a 2018 Hollywood production.
