Whether it’s for their movie promotions or IPL, cricketers ‘ rumours affiliated with Bollywood actresses have always been, are, and will always be nearby until eternity!!! Not only because of its wealth and fame but also because of its deep relationship with Bollywood, cricket is not called a glamorous sport. Over the years, there have been several cases of romantic involvement of actors and cricketers.
From the love affair of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore in the 1960s to today’s Virat and Anushka, cricketers and Bollywood actresses seemed to have something for each other from time to time!! Amrita Arora – Usman Afzal
Shortly before the knot was tied with Shakeel Ladak by Bollywood actress Amrita Arora, she made headlines for dating Australian cricketer from Pakistan–Usman Afzal. Said to have played from the England team in 2001, the cricketer. The pair met at the party of a common friend and immediately fell for each other!! Even on family functions and special occasions he began to make regular appearances. Amrita even said, “I’m sure it’s the guy for me. We’re going to make it legal whenever it’s the right time for both of us. “Nevertheless, the couple decided to divide their ways after being together for more than a year.
Isha Sharvani – Zaheer Khan
They shared an eight-year relationship that, amid ups and downs, stood strong. And have been together for years, it was quite natural for them to get married. Yet unexpectedly, the couple decided they would not get married, but instead separate! Each split their ways, and later cricketer married Sagarika Ghatge, Chak De India’s famous actress.
Amrita Singh-Ravi Shastri
It was one of the most talked-about 80’s affairs that came into the public eye after Amrita and Ravi posed for a magazine cover together. In 1986, they were even rumoured to be involved. Yet soon the pair realized that they were not meant for each other and that they were different poles because of which they decided to separate their ways. This was quite clear when Ravi said, “I certainly don’t want a wife from the actress. I’m a chauvinist. Her home will be her first goal. “According to Amrita,” I’m too interested in my career at the moment to give it up. But I’m sure I’ll be able to become a full-time wife and mother after a couple of years.
Deepika Padukone – Yuvraj Singh – Kim Sharma
Until he hitched to Hazel, Cricketer Yuvraj Singh was rumoured to be dating both Deepika and Kim (naturally at a different time!). Things didn’t work out though, and Deepika moved on with Ranveer Singh and married Ali Punjani, a businessman.
Neena Gupta – Vivian Richards
The love life of Neena Gupta was just like a roller coaster ride full of drops, twists and turns!! While Vivian had already been married, these two went on very strongly but never married. Neena and Richard are thought to have met at a Mumbai party. There was a brimming love between the two and Neena was pregnant with daughter Masaba Gupta within a few months.
Nagma – Sourav Ganguly
This is one of the relationships that gained a lot of fan and media attention. He ended his love story by marrying his present wife Dona with media attention beginning to take a toll on Sourav’s flourishing career. Although Sourav maintained a’ No Comments ‘ position on this personal issue, Nagma continued to speak out publicly that there was indeed something on between her and Colkata’s Prince. There was no happy ending to the story.
Sofia Hayat – Rohit Sharma
In 2012, Sofia announced that she had dated Rohit via Instagram, but it was over now.
