It is a well-known fact that women live longer than males. This appears to be wonderful news for the females, but there is one surprise in store. Women, it turns out, age more quickly than males. It’s no surprise that women have a variety of causes for this, ranging from pregnancy to menopause, and the list goes on.

According to Dr. Judith Mohring, women are more prone to mental breakdowns, especially if they are work-related. After all, it’s the hormonal difference that explains everything. Depression is linked to hormonal variations. Furthermore, women are more affected by Seasonal Affective Disorder than males. Constant stress accelerates the ageing process.

Pregnancy makes you look 11 years older, according to a study done at George Mason University. Women who have given birth, on the other hand, have shorter telomeres than those who have never had a child. The older you appear, the shorter your telomeres are. Furthermore, stress during pregnancy is prevalent, hastening the ageing process.

Male skin is 25% thicker than female skin, according to dermatologists. Although the percentage may differ from person to person, the overall figure remains consistent. Male faces, on the other hand, have fewer wrinkles than female faces, but the ones that do exist are deeper.

Estrogen is responsible for the young appearance of a woman’s face, whereas testosterone is more common in men. Testosterone levels that are high slow down the ageing process. Although oestrogen has anti-ageing properties, its production diminishes more quickly than testosterones. Women are the first to develop wrinkles because of this.

Menopause takes its toll.

Menopause causes a decrease in hormones, which accelerates the ageing process. When a woman reaches menopause, her body stops making as much collagen as it once did. The skin’s suppleness is lost as a result of this.

Do you think women age more quickly than men? Do you have a youthful appearance for your age?
