Jane Dipika Garrett was one of the participants in the Miss Universe Nepal pageant. She is a committed proponent of body positivity who uses her social media platforms to continuously spread awareness of women’s mental health issues. With her victory, a plus-size competitor has now triumphed in a national pageant for the first time.

Jane, an American Nepalese, often modifies beauty standards for women by normalising plus-size bodies on social media. “I think that every woman is beautiful in her own right, regardless of the type of beauty standard that exists.” She continuously encourages others to be confident and accept their natural bodies on Instagram.
Her goal is to advocate for curvaceous women.
“I’m here to represent women who are curvy, who struggle with weight gain, and who struggle with hormonal issues as a woman who does not meet certain beauty standards,” Jane added. “Each woman has a special, natural beauty.” We should all be inspired by her tale to embrace who we really are!
